Learn 7 languages with Lukas Graham's 7 Years Karaoke Version

Hello fellow language learners!

As you know when learning languages your teacher may ask you to listen to a song in that language. It’s a very fun way to learn commonly used words and and grammatical structures without boring yourself easily.

Today I want to share the karaoke version of the song ‘7 Years’ by Lukas Graham. It is a song about family, parents and life. The song has lyrics subtitled in 7 languages, some of which written by myself. You can use this song to learn French, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, or Vietnamese. By the way translating lyrics is among one of the hardest translation jobs because you must not only convey the original meaning, but also make sure the output has the right rhythm, rhyme and in some languages intonation.

Here are some of the lyrics for your perusal:

English
Once I was seven years old, my mama told me.
Go make yourself some friends or you’ll be lonely.
Once I was seven years old
It was a big big world but we thought we were bigger
Pu-shing each other to the limits we were learning quicker
By 11 smoking herb and drinking burning liquor
Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure

Spanish
A los siete años mi madre me dijo
Has amigos no te quedes solo
Minha mãe me disse assim: Vá faça amigos ou vai ficar sozinho

Portuguese
Quando eu tinha 7 anos
Minha mãe me disse assim: Vá faça amigos ou vai ficar sozinho

Fumavamo erba, bevevamo fino a tardi
Anche se non ricchi sembravamo proprio duri

Music from Squid Game Soundtrack

Hi guys, it's me Jubinell again after a long hiatus, 11 years to be exact! Recently, I have decided to get serious with piano again. I purchased a new stage keyboard and started covering American and Asian pop songs and movie soundtracks.

Today I want to share with you guys the latest song I just played. It is 'I Remember My Name' from Episode 6 of the Netflix TV series "I Remember My Name".

5-Minute Performance Version:

1-Hour Relaxation Version:

[Spoiler Alert! Stop reading if you haven't watched the TV series.]

Squid Game (Korean: 오징어 게임; RR: Ojing-eo Geim) is a South Korean survival drama television series streaming on Netflix. It was written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, and stars Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, O Yeong-su, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung. The series was released worldwide on September 17, 2021, and distributed by Netflix. The show received overwhelmingly positive reviews, and within a week was one of Netflix's most watched programs in several regional markets.

Jung Jae-il (Korean: 정재일; born 7 May 1982) is a South Korean music composer. He notably composed the score of Award-winning movies Okja and Parasite, both directed by Bong Joon-ho. He also composed the OST for Squid Game, which was released on September 17, 2021. The soundtrack has 20 tracks, and the song 'I Remember My Name' is track number 6. This song was played during the ending scene of Episode 6, where the characters had to play a marble game against their own partner. The loser would be shot dead. Multiple protagonists such Seong Gi-hun (player number 456) and Cho Sang-woo (218) had to use dirty tactics to cheat their partners Oh Il-nam (001) and Abdul Ali (199). The most touching moment took place at the end of the scene, when the old man Oh Il-nam finally remembered his name. He then willingly gave Seong Gi-hun his remaining marble so that Seong Gi-hun could survive.

The song captured the ironic eventuality of the scene perfectly. It was as if the viewers were slowly dragged into the scene against their will. We are forced to accept the cruel fates and the horrible actions of the players. The song climaxes as the losers met their death. Then the heavy sound subdued as survivors moved on crying in tears.

I arranged the sheet music for piano with string orchestra in Musescore. You can check the link below. I filmed this video using an overhead camera, so please play along with me.
